As Visiting Fellow of the  Center for Women, Peace and Security of the London School of Economics and Political Science,  Lourdes López has delivered the seminar "Towards Truth and Reconciliation:  Crafting Alternative Spaces of Justice through Women's Writing",  chaired by Joanna Lewis, the Centre's director. The presentation was framed within two important developments in the field of transitional justice: the need to highlight the contribution of women to peacebuilding and reconciliation processes; and the current interest in the alternative, fluid spaces of justice offered by the arts and literature.  Through an exploration of two case studies, Indigenous Canadian Lisa Bird-Wilson’s poetry collection The Red Files (2016),  and Zimbabwean NoViolet Bulawayo’s novel Glory (2022),  the seminar showed the different ways in which women’s writing engages with the challenges and limitations of justice interventions, shining a light on pathways to more peaceful futures.
